The grass withers and flowers fade, but the word of the Lord stands forever. -Isaiah 40:8
“When all else fails, I always know I still have the Lord. I can still read his word, pray, and know that he is with me wherever I go. Don’t let anyone or anything tear you away from that bond.” –Into the Deep Unknown
With a road trip to Florida coming up in two days, I can’t help but be a little worrisome about the drive. It’s always scary thinking about all that’s happening in our world today. Between what happened in Orlando to the rise in the rate of car accidents, it’s a no brainier to be nervous.
But that’s the thing about life. The price you pay for adventure is ultimately your safety. You are taking a risk to live and make stories of your own. Let that fear of what could happen wither and fade away. Live thru your adventure as you are 100% there. Experience the youth you have right now, because one day it will be gone.
Don’t pray as if you want God to take your fear away, but ask for his presence to help you live in the moment with His presence. Ask for his love. Knowing He is there with you during your adventure and as you take those risks, is enough assurance.
This morning, the pastor of my church posted this quote on Facebook:
“Are you living your life in a way that is worth telling stories about? Maybe it is time to quit running [from fear] and time to start chasing. Take some risks. Start doing some things that are worth recounting in jaw-dropping detail…Too many of us pray as if God’s primary objective is to keep us from getting scared. But the goal of life is not the elimination of fear. The goal is to muster the moral courage to chase lions.” Mark Batterson, In a Pit With a Lion On a Snowy Day
God’s love never fails. He will be with you wherever you go, no matter the distance.
